Being Practical - Engineering Rants - I

Engineering is a pain in the ass, especially when it comes with the AU tag. I've been taking my practical exams - practically working on concepts that one learns in a subject. Somehow, I find it pointless to sit and create printf statements and files to display silly outputs. Though I must admit, I suck at it due to complete lack of interest and disgust for the system.

To start with, we have the observation notebook. We spend three hours (literally) in front of so-called state of the art computers and type out code to complete 'experiments'. An observation note book, does nothing near its namesake, we're asked to write everything before we enter the lab, nothing to observe, nothing to learn. We then type/copy paste the program..write the stereotype sample input and output and that's how 3 productive hours are spent every week. I have 3 labs sessions week, so that means I waste 9 hours a week on nothing but crap. The experiments barely teach us anything at all. I don't want simplified codes, I want to write them myself! I don't want to sit in front of a bloody blue screen for 4 years of my engineering degree, NO SIR!
